Auth0 security review cost is $2,400 once for one app that signs people in through an Auth0 tenant. $1,200 starts the work. The report is due 48 hours after a test user can sign in. You own the PDF. There is no subscription.
The tenant invoice is not that test. Auth0 issues the token. Your API decides whether it believes the audience.
Short answer: Auth0 security review cost is $2,400 once, with $1,200 to start, for one app that signs in with Auth0. I check the API audience, the organization on the token, and the calls the UI already makes, then write the report 48 hours after access works. You own it. An Auth0 plan and a multi-week pentest are different products. The offer is the web application security review.
What does an Auth0 security review cost?
$2,400 once for one app, $1,200 to start, the rest when the PDF lands. You own that file. You are not buying Auth0’s monthly user bill, a scanner seat, or a stamp I do not hold.
Auth0’s pricing page lists B2C Essentials at $35 a month for 500 monthly active users, and B2B Essentials at $150 a month for the same 500. B2C Professional starts at $240. B2B Professional starts at $800. Free is $0 up to 25,000 monthly active users, with 5 organizations and basic attack protection. Yearly billing is 11 times the monthly price.
| What you are buying | 2026 price | What you actually get |
|---|---|---|
| Auth0 B2C Essentials | $35/mo at 500 MAU | The tenant, pro MFA, RBAC, 10 organizations. Not a test of your API |
| Auth0 B2B Essentials | $150/mo at 500 MAU | Unlimited organizations and 3 enterprise SSO connections. Still their product |
| This Auth0 review | $2,400 once, $1,200 to start | One app, audience, organization, the API the UI calls, report in 48 hours, one retest |
| Web app test, market | $5,000–$30,000 | Longer calendar, often packaged for a compliance conversation |
Synack’s 2026 cost post puts a typical web application test in that $5,000 to $30,000 band.
B2C Essentials at $35 a month is $840 over 24 months and $1,260 over 36. B2B Essentials at $150 is $3,600 and $5,400. B2B Professional at $800 is $19,200 over 24 months and $28,800 over 36. Three passes of this review, a year apart, are $7,200. The tenant bill stays separate.
The same $2,400 is on pricing. A Clerk login is a different vendor and a different set of claims, covered in Clerk security review cost.
What does that $2,400 actually open?
I sign in as the roles you already sell and record which organization and which API those tokens can reach. Auth0 issues the token. Your API has to match the audience and the scopes to the route. Your client secret stays out of the browser and out of this engagement.
Auth0’s validate access tokens guide is the bar I write against:
- An access token is meant for an API. Only that API should accept it. A token for a different identifier is a miss, even when the signature is valid.
- At least one audience value must match the API Identifier in that API’s settings.
- The scope list has to include what that route requires. Auth0’s own example is a create route that should refuse a token missing
create:users. I record whether your API does. I do not ship a recipe. - A member of organization A should not read organization B through a call the UI already makes. Free includes 5 organizations. B2B Essentials lists unlimited organizations.
- I note whether a browser bundle holds a client secret or a Management API token. The PDF names the file path. It does not print the secret.
The document shape is the sample pentest report. No client names.
What is not included for $2,400?
You get severity, path, role, and a fix an engineer can ticket, for one authorized app. I do not ship exploit steps, a tenant-settings rewrite, a second API, or a certificate I do not hold. Attack protection is Auth0’s feature. It is not this PDF.
Basic attack protection is on the Free plan. Enhanced attack protection is on Professional. Those controls live in the tenant. They do not tell you whether a route trusts the wrong audience. I do not edit Actions inside this price.
This is not AI Front Door, where a customer books or pays from ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or another AI app that supports MCP connectors. MCP is the open standard those apps use to connect to a business’s tools. It is not Workflow Automation either. That offer is $3,500 once for one repeating ops job, such as an invoice chase, and it does not read Auth0 tokens.
How does the review run from access to the PDF?
You authorize one URL, I use the test logins you send, and the clock starts when that login works. Auth0 issues the token. Your API decides whether the audience and the organization match. The PDF is what you keep. I do not patch production inside this price.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Trigger | Customer organizations are live, or a buyer asked whether one tenant can read another |
| Action | I walk the live UI as each test role and compare that token to the API those pages already call |
| System of record | The app, plus the written findings: severity, path, role, fix |
| Human escalation | You ticket the change. I do not edit production inside this price |
Send written authorization, at least one working test user, and a second user when two organizations or two roles must stay apart. Name the API Identifier that production is supposed to accept. Say what is public. One free retest of that same URL is included within 14 days.
When this isn’t the right move yet
Do not pay the $1,200 if I cannot legally open the app, or if a buyer named a certificate this offer does not include. Get a URL and two test users first. A pass with no login is a homepage skim.
I will not guess an Auth0 app from a dashboard screenshot. Wait if nobody can create a member and an admin today. Hire the firm that holds CREST if the questionnaire requires that name. If the login is not Auth0, the same web application security review still covers auth and the API.
What should be true before I start?
Bring the URL, two roles or two organizations, and the API Identifier production should accept. I can start without tenant admin. I cannot start without a login that behaves like production, or a public page becomes a false finding.
Before you pay, write which routes a signed-out visitor must still reach, which organization must never see the other’s records, and confirm the client secret is server-only. If you turned on role checks per organization, name the role that should fail a specific page.
If you want the layout before credentials, ask for the sample from the contact form.
$1,200 reserves the work on the review page. I confirm scope in writing before I start. The form is short. I reply with the replacement map within 24 hours. If you would rather talk through the workflow for 20 minutes and see whether this fits, book a 20-minute call.
FAQ
How much does an Auth0 security review cost? +
Auth0 security review cost is $2,400 once for one app, and $1,200 starts it. I review the live UI, the login, the API audience, the organization on the token, and the calls those pages make. The report is written 48 hours after access works. You own the PDF. There is no monthly fee.
Does an Auth0 plan replace this review? +
No. B2C Essentials is $35 a month at 500 monthly active users. B2B Essentials is $150. Those bills pay for the tenant, MFA, and attack protection. They do not show whether your API accepts a token meant for a different audience, or whether one organization can read another's record.
Do you need the Auth0 client secret, and are exploit steps in the PDF? +
I need working test users, not your client secret and not tenant admin. Two roles, or two organizations, when customers must not see each other. The PDF has severity, path, role, and a fix. It does not include exploit steps, your credentials, or a certificate I do not hold.
When should I skip an Auth0 review? +
Skip it if there is no URL I am authorized to use, or no test login. Skip it if a contract names CREST or a letter I do not hold. If the app does not use Auth0, the same $2,400 review still fits. Booking from an AI app and an invoice chase are different offers.
