How many customers ask an AI about you and can't book you?
People now ask ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for a plumber, a dentist, a cleaner, a lawyer. The app recommends a few names. If yours can't be booked or paid right there in the conversation, a chunk of them take the one that can. This is an estimate, not a measurement: the two sliders are guesses you should adjust, and the math is shown in full.

How we estimate this
- AI-assisted inquiries per month = inquiries × the share you estimate start in an AI assistant.
- Jobs lost per month = AI-assisted inquiries × the share that leave × your close rate. The close rate is applied because not every inquiry would have become a customer anyway.
- Revenue leaking per month = jobs lost × average job value. Per year × 12.
- Payback = $3,500 ÷ monthly revenue leaking, using the entry-level AI Front Door price. Larger plans cost more and take longer to pay back.
- The two sliders are the honest weak point. Nobody has clean data on how many local-service inquiries start in ChatGPT yet, and the walk-away share depends on how urgent the job is. Move them until they feel right for your business; the result is only as good as those two guesses.
Let customers get answers, book and pay from inside ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini
An AI Front Door connects the apps your customers already use to your calendar, prices and payments, so the assistant can answer real questions about your business, book the slot and take the deposit without sending anyone to a website. You pick the apps; nobody downloads anything new. From $3,500, paid once.

Questions
Do people really ask ChatGPT who to hire?
Yes, and increasingly: "find me a plumber near me who can come today" is a normal request in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini now, and the apps answer with names. What's unclear is the exact share for your trade and town, which is why that number is a slider you set, not a statistic I claim.
Why would someone leave instead of just calling me?
Some don't. But when the assistant can book a competitor on the spot, hand over a price and take a deposit while the person is still in the chat, "call this number during business hours" loses a share of them. The second slider is how big you think that share is.
What does an AI Front Door actually do?
It's a secure connection (an MCP server) between the AI apps and your business systems. Customers can ask real questions, see availability, book and pay; you can ask about your own numbers. Look Up (answers only) starts at $3,500; Desk adds booking and payment. Nobody installs a new app.
Isn't this the same as showing up in ChatGPT search?
No. Being mentioned is visibility; the free AI visibility checker measures that. This calculator is about the step after: the customer has your name and wants to act, and the app can't do anything with you. The Front Door fixes the second problem.
