What is an MCP, in normal words?

It is how a customer talks to your business from the AI they already use. ChatGPT can recommend a plumber. An MCP is what lets that plumber’s shop actually take the booking, the payment, or the message — with rules for what a stranger may do. You do not launch a new app. People keep talking to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or whichever AI app they like.

Does it only work with ChatGPT?

No. It is built on MCP, the open standard that ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, and Grok support in some form, so one connection serves whichever AI app your customers use. I do not resell AI app subscriptions.

Will it mess up my Jobber or CRM?

Look Up cannot change a record. Desk and Floor can write only the fields we list, and anything that moves money waits for your yes. We turn writes on after you have watched a week of drafts. If it writes something wrong in the first 45 days, I fix it.

Do I need to be technical?
